About

Who we are: We are residents in the Emergency Medicine program at Queen’s University who have put together a resident-authored blog. Eve Purdy and Kristen Weersink are currently heading up this project but always interested in the involvement by anybody in the department or interested medical students. Please feel free to get in touch with us, contact info below.

Mission: Our goal is to share the content of our grand rounds and journal club presentations. We will also highlight some our awesome residents, staff and allied health team.

Target Audience: Though targeted at members of our community unable to make the weekly presentations others not apart of our program may find it valuable or interesting as well!

Structure: Our journal club and grand rounds are generally led by senior residents (R3-R5s in EM). The majority of our summaries will be created by junior residents who have been paired with the presenting senior. The purpose of this is to encourage active learning by the junior residents while also allowing room for a mentoring relationship between different levels of the program.
